The second annual TCRW features more than 20 restaurants offering a special three course menu for just $25. It's our way of showing our appreciation to all of our local and out of town patrons that support our industry throughout the year.  See the menu here.

October 2011

Chefs Al Schmitt and Ben Hoxie hit Chicago for a food and restaurant research frenzy with owner Dave Denison. They were joined by current Chicago residents and amical alums Tim Koenig, Jan Teeter, Mikhail Schilkey and Michael Robinson for and intense 48 hour eating marathon.

It started with a early lunch at Longman and Eagle in Logan Square for some Short Rib and Sweet Poatato Hash, Chicken and Waffles and hand crafted whiskey drinks. Next it was on to Wicker Park. We peaked into the window of Hot Chocolate, which was closed on Monday, then over to Feast for another lunch.

Into the city we ventured for a late lunch at Bijan's Bistro, then over to GT's Fish and Oyster for innovative seafood small plates and, guess what, more hand-crafted cocktails! From there we stuck our head into Avec, one of Paul Kahan's minimalistic creations. It was too crowded to handle our group of six right away so we headed around the corner.

At Sepia, we found a spot in the bar. Since we had a reservation, we stayed put to sample their liquid innovations.
